About South Al Sharqiyah Governorate

South Al Sharqiyah Governorate forms the northeastern front of the Sultanate of Oman, overlooking the Arabian Sea to the east. It is bordered by Al Sharqiyah Sands to the south and Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to the west. The governorate comprises five wilayats: Sur, Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jalan Bani Bu Ali, and Masirah, with Sur being the administrative center.

Introduction to the Wilayats of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate

South Al Sharqiyah is witnessing the implementation of numerous developmental projects. In addition to the development of road networks and other tourism projects, the governorate is known for major projects such as the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project, the urea and ammonia fertilizer plant, and the industrial area in Sur.
